Google brings continuous scrolling to desktop search results page in the United States.

Google is making desktop search engine result more like mobile

with an upgrade that lets users constantly scroll through numerous pages. Continuous scrolling is now presenting to desktop search results page in the United States. In an email to Online search engine Journal, Google discusses how the SERPs will display up to 6 pages of URLs prior to triggering users to click “more results”:

“… we’re bringing constant scrolling to desktop so you can continue to see more helpful search engine result with less clicks. It’s now even much easier to get motivated with more information within your reaches.

Now, when you scroll down you’ll continue to find appropriate results so that you can find new ideas. When you reach the bottom of a search results page, up to six pages of results will be immediately revealed up until you see a “More outcomes” button if you wish to continue even more.”

As Google continues to fill the first page of search results page with ads, included snippets, media, ‘people likewise ask’ boxes, and other features, this update is a win for regular websites.

Giving searchers the ability to scroll through six pages at the same time increases their likelihood of seeing more results before striking an obstruction.

We do not expect this modification to impact reporting. Google noted last year, upon upgrading mobile search engine result to constant scrolling, that there’s no difference in Search Console.

That’s since Search Console tracks SERP positions, not pages, Google explains:
